BOZmail JANUARY JAMBOREE day thirteen

THE BOZmail – JANUARY JAMBOREE

Day THIRTEEN:

BOZnap of the day:

1-05 LINGFIELD

I make no apologies for using LIM to right the Jamboree score. Did say I’d throw a few well thought out lays in along the way and when you ask me where I went wrong on my birthday bash at Sedgefield, I reply that I spent the day recreationally backing instead of professionally laying. Could have layed Honourmission,Rostello and Universal Folly (how apt that I ignored the message coming out of that name!!).  Laying is what I’m best at and I return to it again on Monday to lay an odds on shot – what LIM was invented for!! Birthday is over.January is still on so I remain cautious but I like this LIM play again. Kaizer ran ok yesterday I thought and did a job in taking Chti Balko on early so others could reap the benefit. He does come off to follow list for a while now though as handicap debut suggests he’ll need to find his mark before winning again. I’ll keep an eye to bring him back on in future though. Has been a horse to impress at the right level.

All four runners at Lingfield carry penalty and higher mark than they’ve won at but Flaminger especially so and he looks very short to me at 4/7. Outranked on times by all the other three and presumably considered a good thing for the race because of stable record in this race and at this track and maybe because he has youth on his side and main two opponents are long in the tooth. Far too short for me at 4/7 though so I take him on and both the two old boys appeal as a back on paper although Finnegan’s Garden stable is out of kilter so I’ll stick with a back on The Gipper who hasn’t won over fences yet but is now very well handicapped there having run some decent placers in quick times even on heavy ground which should present no problem. His penalty is really for winning hurdles races and thus can arguably be considered as not a penalty in a Chase. Pretty keen on his chance getting weight with Finnegan’s Garden as LIM cover..
