BOZmail JANUARY JAMBOREE day eleven

THE BOZmail – JANUARY JAMBOREE

Day Eleven:

BOZnap of the day:

2-00 LINGFIELD – RED MIST@ 13/8 – 0.1pt BACK

Three non runners at Warwick which is very January again and with the Sedgefield day failing to fire and taking us back to tiny minus, I keep it steady for day eleven with a simple win single on this son of Frankel. Has to overcome a long lay off but has done that before and has a touch of class about him with the stable firing at 100% running to form at both Meydan and in the UK.

Day Ten:

(SEDGEFIELD SHORTLIST FYI): RESULTS: 3 winners : 6 placers : 3 x CSF

12-15 Titus Bolt (2nd @ 3/1) – Ex S’Elance – Bertie Blake (1st @ 9/4) : CSF £9-17

12-50 Colorado Doc (NR) – Ringaringarosie (3rd)

1-25*  O’Hanrahan Bridge (2nd @ 5/4)

2-00 Runswick Royal – Flowery (2nd @ 6/1) – Protek Des Flos (NR)

– Instant Replay (1st @ 6/4) – The Paddy Pie (3rd @ 4/1) : CSF £10-48

2-35 The Lion Dancer – Carrigmorna Matt – Benechenko (3rd @ 4/1) – Tractor Fred

3-05* Linelee King (1st @ 5/6) – Blazing Port (2nd @ 7/4) : CSF £2-73

3-35* Cockney Beau – Universal Folly

(incidence 17 runners in 7 races)

Actually did ok with overall and CSFs but all to poor prices and very much January fare. Seconditis for The BOZ although Shortlist did ok in the first thanks to the savers (market was all over Bertie Blake but he actually failed my paddock check! – not infallible)and I broke even and some with the forecast. Should have shut the satchel but didn’t in the presence of a kind man who bought me a birthday drink (many thanks!) I managed to not back another winner all day! Hey ho. That’s January for you. Sorry to those who texted re gen on Titus Bolt. He actually looked fab in the paddock but there was a big gamble on the Kirby horse while Titus drifted to as much as 4/1 (which was terrific value). They knew however although a loose horse did hamper Titus a tad. He ran his race.

As did O’Hanrahan. Just seconditis day. Poor old Brian never rode his winner either. Grim faced!

Didn’t reply to texts (you need to ring really) as had no credit on phone! But also never heard the text come in and race had gone by the time I saw texts. Hopefully that saved you a bob or two. Had I replied, I’d have said safe and value to back Titus! The weight given to Bertie told and the market told us. CSF saved a wipeout day!
