Ante-Post Extravaganza:

1/ LOSTINTRANSLATION: 8/1 for the Gold Cup

2/ VERDANA BLUE: 33/1 for the Champion Hurdle

3/ MAIRE BANRIGH: 25/1 for The Arkle

4/ THYME HILL: 6/1 for the Albert Bartlett

0.01pt FOUR TIMER for above four to all win at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival

Checked this out for a few of the rest of you who have issues with closed accounts and found the Betdaq Sportsbook and Betway as places you are likely to get it on at this stage. Betway go 9/1 Lostintranslation but only 20/1 Maire Banrigh so it dips under 50,000/1 with them. No-one else offering the acca edge on the Betfair Sportsbook that I could find. Don’t ever get yourself closed at Betfair Sportsbook would be my advice (very useful for accas) but there are ways to do the acca edge on the exchanges yourself if it does happen. As for the Thyme Hill three entries issue, you can split stake three ways and take him in whichever he runs as a perm. The Albert Bartlett still looks most likely to me though so I’m sticking with just that for now. I haven’t found a bookie prepared to take it whichever race he runs but High Street bookie best for that. Get in and play your face until they accept it! Once you are on and have the around 55k secured, you can start any hedging around the egdes you may fancy doing in the next ten weeks before the festival starts. All sorts of permutations for that and I’ll mention a few of mine as I go along on the bet. Your own fancies and lays can be brought into that as part of the strategy as you go along with 55k to play against.

Shortlist System Nap of the Day:

11-45 @ Lingfield – TORO DORADO – 0.1pt WIN BACK – WON

Off the mark thanks to a good ride by Luke. I staggered my stake and took a bit of the 6.2 in running after he settled out the back and averaged out at 4/1 to put the Jamboree back in the black after a poor start. Less is More paid off. After a losing day the best medicine is a winning nap!

Shortlist Exotic bet of the Day:

Quite unlucky I thought with Mr Mac just not quite up to holding his lead and Fortune and Glory not quite up to making his late run count but 3rd and 4th was creditable at the prices and you ‘each way on my outsiders mentioned’ monkeys collected again with Mr Mac making third. I know a few of you do that. Remind me to do it in future will yer! (Just kidding. I’m on record saying I play to win and each way is a cautious step too far. Only very occasionally break that rule but each to their own and remember that many do better than me out of the BOZmail if they’ve got their betting wits about them!).

Day Three:

Have to admit it’s a very unappetising day on Friday again and the reasons for giving January a swerve are coming across to me crystal clear. There will be some days better than this ahead but was tempted to call a no play day after yesterday’s success. Still the case that the discipline is required to end up winning even when we are having fun! Shortlist at Hereford far too high on incidence and yesterday’s at Lingfield scored a large level stakes minus so made the right call being selective with that. Have eeked out a small field play I like the look of at Hereford though just to keep us ticking over with a couple of to follows on the cards for the weekend. Very much January though. A month where the task is getting out without doing yer conkers!

Penalised for LTO win and got to give weight all round including 4lb to French import Red Risk who is stabled with Nicholls, has superior times and experience on bad ground. I expected him at odds on but early BET 365 tissue has him at 11/10 and Twisty’s horse at 13/8. That may drift so get in early and get as short as you can. Maybe as much as 4.0 if you have to as it looks vulnerable to me and Dame du Soir, who also has form on the ground, looks both good LIM cover and the value in the race.

0.2pt LAY on LOCKER ROOM TALK (around 3.0 or lower : upper value parameter = 4.0)

Good Luck with your bets.   BOZ
